About gAlan

gAlan is an audio-processing tool (both on-line and off-line) for X windows and Win32. It allows you to build synthesisers, effects chains, mixers, sequencers, drum-machines etc. etc. in a modular fashion by linking together icons representing primitive audio-processing components. For further information, please see the introduction. Examples of things gAlan can do are available here.

gAlan was written by, and is copyright to, Tony Garnock-Jones and Torben Hohn. Please see this page for contact details.

It was developed on Linux using GTK+ v1.2.0 (0.3 branch uses gtk+2) and the OSS sound drivers but nowadays ALSA and Jack are also supported. gAlan is released under the GNU General Public License (but see here for an exception regarding the plugins!).

The gAlan Homepage

The main Internet homepage for galan is at http://galan.sourceforge.net/. You can always get there by clicking through the link "Go to master website" in the sidebar.
